Supplier Integration

One of the key challenges in establishing a robust project control system is to be able to accurately track the performance of suppliers. On many projects, suppliers account for a major percentage of project scope and budget.

The successful integration of suppliers starts with the recognition that suppliers need to be appropriately integrated within the project performance management reporting framework. Once this is recognised, appropriate project control and risk reporting terms and conditions need to be agreed with the supplier and embedded in the contract. These can range from full Earned Value Management requirements to basic project status reporting. It may also be appropriate to set a requirement for EVM reviews for critical and high risk or high value items.

OTC Optima has significant expertise in advising on and negotiating project control contract requirements, as well as successfully integrating suppliers into prime contractors` performance management frameworks and undertaking independent supplier reviews.
