Sep 2008 - Defence Industry recruits boost OTC's EVM and Risk Capabilities
Pete Mill & David Chard have joined OTC Optima from BAE Systems Military Air Solutions. They have been joined by Nick Lever who joins from Thales. They add considerable strength to the OTC team collectively bringing 75 years of experience in Integrated Project Controls, Earned Value and Risk Management.
Pete Mill was actively involved in BAE Systems implementation of EVM on the Hawk and JSF Programmes prior to establishing a centre of excellence on EVM, providing support across BAE Systems. Pete established and implemented a corporate governance framework for IBR and Demonstration Reviews across BAE Systems(UK) including leading a joint team (BAE Systems/Lockheed Martin/Navair/DCMA/MoD) conducting a Self Assessment Compliance Review on the BAE Systems JSF EVM System. Pete was the lead author of the first UK Guideline for Earned Value Management, published through the Association for Project Management.
David Chard brings a considerable wealth of Risk and Earned Value Management experience to OTC. Whilst at BAE Systems he led the corporate body responsible for determining Project Risk Management policy and processes including training courses, maturity models, competency frameworks and best practice forums. David was the joint author of the Association for Project Management "Interfacing Risk and Earned Value Management" book.
Nick Lever is a Chartered Engineer with substantial experience in business and project management within the engineering and scientific sector. His experience spans 10 years as a design engineer for VSEL and 10 years at QinetiQ in a variety of project, programme and cost centre management roles. Immediately prior to joining OTC Nick was at Thales Avionics managing the UK business convergence programme on Project Management processes and tools with compliance to CMMI, developing and deploying EVM, Risk Management and Sales & Operations Planning processes.
